Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.

The first recorded use of the term upcycling was by Reiner Pilz of Pilz GmbH in an interview by Thornton Kay of Salvo in 1994.

Upcycling is the opposite of downcycling, which is the other half of the recycling process. Downcycling involves converting materials and products into new materials of lesser quality. Most recycling involves converting or extracting useful materials from a product and creating a different product or material – Wikipedia.

If the thought of swimming with sharks has you excited rather than terrified, you’re in luck. There are many places to encounter these often misunderstood predators, with Cape Town, South Africa being the best place for shark spotting.

As a well-known shark hotspot, the waters of Cape Town’s coastline are home to many different shark species. False Bay in particular is where the famous ‘flying’ Great white sharks are found. These sharks prey on marine species such as seals, which are found in abundance near Seal Island. The sight of a huge Great white launching itself out of the water after its prey is not one you will forget easily. Masterchef South Africa Winner – 2012

Masterchef SA – South Africa started on M-Net and M-Net HD on 20 March 2012. The winner of MasterChef SA will win the richest prize in South African television history, valued at R8 Million.

The final 3 contestant remain, go over to Food24 and vote for who you think the Masterchef South Africa winner will be.

We like to follow the Food24 coverage on the show including profiles on Masterchef South Africa Judges, challenges and weekly eliminations. If you do not have M-net or DSTV you can also follow their  recaps of the Masterchef South Africa Episodes.

Google’s Search Plus Your World for Brands – Are you ready?

Google’s search results are undergoing their most radical transformation ever, as a new “Search Plus Your World” format begins rolling out. It finds both content that’s been shared with you privately along with matches from the public web, all mixed into a single set of listings.

In my presentation I try to highlight what these changes mean to a typical Google User and Brands. I have included tips on what Brands can do with their Google+ Pages to make sure they stay on top of this change as well as how this plays into SEO. You can download the presentation here.
